Nuša Jurjevič (1992) is an illustrator, researcher and educator interested in words, shapes and other curiosities of the world around us. She spent her childhood in the hilly village of Lučine on the edge of the Poljanska Valley and, after graduating from art high school, continued her education at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, where she was awarded the ALUO Prize (2020) for her master's thesis on illustration between fiction and reality. She also studied primary school pedagogy and received the Prešeren Prize from the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana (2018). After her studies, she worked as a primary school teacher and later as a freelance illustrator. She led workshops, participated in various projects and exhibited at home and abroad. In 2022, she received a working scholarship for a promising artist from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. As an assistant and researcher at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana, she works at the intersection of science and art. In her artistic work, she likes to combine elements of reality and fantasy. Dragons and Other Dragonlike Creatures (2025, Miš publishing) is her debut work for young readers.
