FC Freedom

A Tale about crossing borders and crossing paths. 

Teenagers Anej and Sabi, who once lived thousands of kilometres apart, meet in Greece, where Anej is a tourist and Sabi a Syrian refugee. The boys discover a common passion – football. FC Freedom is an exciting story about fleeing from war, an adventure that might have gone wrong, (ir)responsible adults, football, and friendship.

The author, who belongs to the younger generation, addresses a topical issue – our attitude towards people with no home. Though partly based on true stories of refugee teenagers, this is more than just another young adult novel about the refugee experience: its central theme is friendship between two teenagers from different parts of the world.
