Somewhere far, far away, there are two houses standing next to each other: a big one and a small one. That’s where best friends Theo and Willy live; one is enormously big, and the other tremendously small, but their adventures are always great. The heroes plant and reap glory (which doesn’t smell as enticing as pancakes, though), nibble at cakes together with Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood, and crack hard nuts – of one kind or another.
Theo and Willy is a collection of amusing stories about the giant Theo and the much smaller Willy (who’s definitely not a dwarf, though), their warm friendship, and the exciting, fairy-tale adventures they embark upon. Intertextually, the author integrates motifs and heroes from existing fairy tales into the work and presents them in a new and fresh light. The text is imaginatively explores the world of fairy tales, playfully alters its laws and goes beyond the reader’s horizon of expectations with cunning twists.
